1. You are obligated to purchase Italian State Insurance Plan (approximately $100). The Bologna Center will provide you with enrollment details when you arrive. The State Insurance Plan only covers emergency treatment while you are in Italy.
2. The school strongly recommends that all students purchase the JHU Student Health Insurance Plan, as this will give you coverage in Italy (in fact, around the world) as well as in the United States. Use the Worldwide Assistance telephone number when traveling to locate medical assistance.
3. The Italian Embassy issuing your visa may require that you show proof of insurance coverage for the period of your studies.
