Record Forms Fund for Public Service Frank Record ’72 recently established the Fund for Public Service at SAIS as both a gift to future SAIS grads and a challenge to fellow alumni. Record has spent much of his notable career in government service and created the fund to encourage SAIS students to seek careers in that field. The fund will support students pursuing unpaid internships at government agencies. He hopes other alumni involved in public service will also contribute.
Kempler Hosts NYC Alumni Event Professor Francis Fukuyama spoke on the subject of U.S. foreign policy at an alumni gathering at McKinsey & Company’s New York City office on November 8. The event, hosted by Lee Kempler ’91, brought some 185 SAIS alumni together, tapping into the largest concentration of alumni outside of Washington, D.C.

Swanson Is New Director of Development Ruth Swanson, formerly of the Washington Area Women’s Foundation, has joined the Office of Development and Alumni Relations team as director of development. She will be working to make SAIS’s long-range strategic plan, “Rolling Back the Future,” a reality. Swanson is “thrilled to be part of both SAIS and the JHU community, which is so well respected and admired.”
