International Reporting Project Receives Gates Foundation Grant Through a generous grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the International Reporting Project at SAIS will expand its Gatekeepers Program this fall. The program trains senior journalists in the U.S. media to cover global health and development issues by sending them on an intensive fact-fi nding visit to an important but somewhat undercovered country in the news. The fall Gatekeepers participants will travel to South Korea. Fund Established to Honor Professor Enzo Grilli Led by Alessandra Campanaro B’00, ’01 and Silvia Zucchini B’99, ’00, alumni and friends have come together to set up a fellowship to honor Professor Enzo Grilli, who passed away last year. Their goal is to raise $100,000 to create a permanent endowment fund that will benefit SAIS students at the Bologna Center and in Washington, D.C. Elise Lease Leaves Bequest for Fellowship SAIS recently received a generous bequest of $500,000 from Baltimore native Elise Lease to establish a new fellowship. Of the institutions that received contributions from her estate, SAIS was the leading beneficiary. New Development and Alumni Relations Staff Margaret Frondorf MIPP ’00 will join SAIS as director of Alumni Relations on November 19. She is executive director of Alumni Relations at Marymount University in Arlington, Va., and previously spent 15 years working in the Social Change and Development and International Development programs at SAIS. Ashley Rogers has been named associate director for Corporate and Foundation Relations. She is a graduate of Bowdoin College and has experience in foundation relations at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Genzyme Corporation and The George Washington University.
